Hoffman's classic tale of the battle between the Mouse King and
the Nutcracker. This edition is notable for the delicious illustrations
by Maurice Sendak who also designed the sets and costumes for
Pacific Northwest Ballet's production.
Of
the many adaptations of the Nutcracker story, Janet Schulman's
retelling of the 1816 ETA Hoffman tale is one of the best. This
edition includes a book, charmingly illustrated by Renee Graef,
and a CD with Claire Bloom narrating music from the ballet.
