Last night’s So You Think You Can Dance results show narrowed the field of dancers down to a mere four contestants. The show began with a palpable air of regret already hanging in the air, as the judges and audience knew the solo dances to be performed by the top six contestants were merely a prelude to the loss of two contestants. Rejection was lead judge Nigel Lythgoe’s theme when he addressed all of the contestants at the beginning of the show. “You’re going to have to prepare yourself for rejection…You cannot let that rejection consume you. That has to motivate you.” He was quick to point out that each of the remaining contestants had proven to be immensely popular with the public. “I’m gonna tell you something…Each and every one of you pulled over a million votes last night.”

It was later revealed that 18-year-old Latin dancer Chelsie Hightower and 24 year-old contemporary dancer Mark Kanemura were eliminated from the competition.
