The web is still buzzing about Michelle and Barack Obama's Inaugural Dance, but Republican presidential candidate John McCain doesn't feel like dancing. And he doesn't want his wife doing it, either.
According to the latest reports, Cindy McCain was asked to appear as a contestant on Season 8 of Dancing with the Stars. The New York Post says:
"Just before Thanksgiving, Cindy McCain (above) started talks with producers to appear as a dancer on the show. She wanted to do it very badly." But this week, Sen. McCain "put the kibosh on it."
So it's okay for Sarah Palin, Vice Presidential Candidate, to go on Saturday Night Live, but not for Cindy McCain, wife, to go on Dancing with the Stars? I don't get it. Anyway, here's how some of the blogosphere reacted:
"Can you really blame John for not letting his wife on the show? Lowering himself to using a woman for an obvious publicity stunt is just not something a man of his stature would do... unless of course it was for a presidential campaign." -Celebslam
"How could he ruin the fun, especially after appearing on SNL himself? Having Cindy on the show would be awesome, and frankly I’m surprised she wanted to do it." -Inquisitr
"She'd be an absolute champ. John, why do you have to rain on America's parade like that?" -Heartless Doll
